Chilgrove Business Centre to the north of Chichester has welcomed the arrival of a local family solicitor who has signed up for 2 rooms. This now leaves only one large room at the centre.

Acting on behalf of the Local Retail Fund we have completed a letting of Unit 6 at Old Mill Square shopping precinct in Storrington. The unit has been taken by opticians Martin Steels who occupy the adjoining Unit 5. The success of their business has necessitated more staff and space. Hence they have taken a new 10 year lease on both units to allow them to amalgate the two shops.

Other occupiers at Old Mill Square include Barclays Bank, Waitrose and Costa Coffee.

Alex Medhurst has acted for Three Rivers District Council as an Expert Witness in a public planning inquiry hearing.

Wearing his Adams Integra hat, Alex supported David Coate and the local planning authority to defend the refusal of 8 planning applications by a developer. The applications were to redevelop two office buildings in Rickmansworth into over 400 apartments.

The planning inspector has now found in favour of the Council and dismissed the appeals. One of the grounds for the dismissal was the disagreement over Financial Viability. This was where the Adams Integra team's expert knowledge proved crucial.

Acting for the Chichester College Group, we have been part of the team working with Horsham District Council and Harwoods Motor Group to secure a planning permission for part of the Brinsbury Campus.

12 acres has now been granted detailed planning permission for a new Harwoods main dealership for Land Rover, Jaguar and Bentley as well as head quarters offices for the group. Construction is expected to start later in the year.

Outline planning permission has also been granted on 16 acres for commercial B1/B2 and B8 development for up to 6 buildings.

Whilst this is on green field land, the sale proceeds of the land will be reinvested into the College to ensure its continued sustainability. It was also recognised that the Horsham District was extremely short of much needed land allocated for employment uses. So these sites will go towards providing the many jobs needed in the area.

All occupiers on the sites must have an educational link with the College through apprenticeships, learning and or work opportunities.
