Initially we were instructed by the owner to find a new tenant for the business unit as it had become surplus to requirements. The neighbour, Heatload, that specialises in heat testing equipment for data centres, made a very attractive offer to buy it to expand into, so we negotiated an attractive figure to make this happen. Despite the recent catastrophic fire at the Angel Hotel in Midhurst and subsequent road closure, local businesses have stayed resilient. Through this period we continued to receive enquiries for teh retail unit at 2 Green Court in West Street and have now completed a letting to local well being expert Rosemary Knight trading as Honey & Herb Wellbeing. Tangmere Military Aviation Trust has retained Medhursts to assist and advise them to expand the Tangmere museum either onto a larger site or to acquire additional parking land. The successful and well funded museum has a substantial portfolio of historical military artifacts including about 16 planes that it is struggling to house in their existing base. Seeking a new site of about 3 acres in the nearby area, Medhursts role will involve negotiating the acquisition, possible sale and other planning, valuation and procurement matters. Acting for the Trustees of the Rookwood School Trust, Medhursts acted as the property advisors in the sale of the assets and going concern of the private school in Andover. Working with VWV Solicitors, FRP Advisory and the Bursar, we assisted in negotiating terms for the Charitable Trust to sell the school to Independent Learning Group as a going concern. Advising on values, deal structure and Overage terms, Medhursts fulfilled a similar role to the one they were involved in with the more local Prebendal Prep School in Chichester. |
